Arizona-based publisher Poisoned Pen Press has created its first imprint, dedicated to titles for teenagers, called Poisoned Pencil. The imprint is looking to release mysteries that cover, it said, "all traditional" forms.
The new imprint will be overseen by Jessica Tribble, who was named publisher of the company in 2011, with Ellen Larson serving as editor. The first title in the new line is expected to be released in fall 2013. “Our experience shows that today’s young adults are sophisticated and savvy readers who seek good stories well told," said Tribble. "Filling this important niche through the Poisoned Pencil not only affords us the opportunity to introduce new works of mystery to the young adult audience, but also serves to ensure future generations of voracious mystery readers.”
Poisoned Pen, which was founded in 1997 and specializes in mysteries, has more than 400 books in print.
