Penguin Random House president and COO Madeline McIntosh announced the formation of the cross-company Penguin Random House Audio Group, which will blend the responsibilities across the Penguin and Random House audio lists.

“This combination expands upon a long-standing creative collaboration between the two producer teams who have enjoyably worked together on numerous studio recordings over the past years," said McIntosh.

The group will be headed by Amanda D'Acierno, who will assume the role of senior v-p, publisher at PRH Audio, Fodor's and Living Language. She was previously senior v-p and publisher at Fodor's Travel.

McIntosh added that D'Acierno's “leadership and business acumen are matched by a love for the audio format and a keen appreciation of its creative and commercial potential."

Other major appointments within the group include Patti Pirooz to senior executive producer, and Dan Zitt to v-p, content production.

McIntosh also reported that the frontlist and backlist audio titles will continue to be sold by the respective Penguin and Random House retail sales reps currently selling them. Additionally, the dedicated audio marketing, library sales, and publicity teams of the former Random House Audio Group will extend their activities to support Penguin’s audio list. The Random audio list had been much larger than the Penguin list.
