Hard Case Crime announced that it will be publishing eight suspense novels written by Michael Crichton under the pseudonym John Lange. Written during Crichton's time at Harvard Medical School, the books, unavailable for decades, will be published in sets of four on October 29 and November 19. Crichton will be identified as the author.
Crichton, who died in 2008, added chapters and re-edited some of the books, all which were written between 1966 and 1972. The eight titles, which will also be released as e-books by Open Road, are Odds On, Scratch One, Easy Go, Zero Cool, The Venom Business, Drug of Choice, Grave Descend, and Binary.
“Michael was one of the most imaginative and talented suspense writers who ever lived,” said Hard Case Crime founder and editor Charles Ardai, who worked closely with Crichton on editing the Lange books. “These early novels show his ingenuity and creativity at full blast and they read like a rocket.”
