Cengage Learning, which recently emerged from bankruptcy, announced that its Boston office will now serve as its headquarters. The company is in the processing of transferring the functions of its old headquarters in Stamford, Ct. to the office in Boston’s Innovation District.
When the move to the Boston office is finished, the company’s entire executive team will be located in the city along with all corporate functions. In addition, a spokesperson noted that while Cengage has had development and product teams in Boston, “these groups will be greatly expanded, taking advantage of Boston’s talent and passion for education.”
The spokesperson said about 10% of the staff located in Stamford will be moving to Boston. According to Cengage, more than 500 positions will be permanently located in its Boston headquarters, and it will continue to maintain operations in more than 20 countries around the world and many locations in the U.S.
