Following the purchase of Quercus by Hachette U.K. earlier this spring, distribution for Quercus’ U.S. titles will move from Random House Publisher Services to Hachette’s U.S. unit, Hachette Book Group, on July 1. As part of the transition, Quercus’ five U.S.-based employees moved to HBG’s offices last Friday.
The unit, under Eric Price, will continue with its mission of curating Quercus U.K.-generated titles for release in the U.S. , while associate publisher Nathaniel Marunas will resume acquiring titles in the U.S. “It is the same as it ever was,” Price said. “We plan to develop a full list” of about 80 titles.
