San Francisco-based publishing associations Books & Booze and Book Promotion Forum have merged to form BayPub. The new entity will encompass the members of both the organizations, and will offer "more parties, more job listings, more educational programs and opportunities, and more networking."
Back in 1975, a group of book publicists formed what was then called the Northern California Book Publicity and Marketing Association, to help publicity and marketing people in the book business share resources. More recently known as the Book Promotion Forum, the organization grew to include a broad spectrum of publishing professionals. Books & Booze has been hosting network parties in the area since 2003.
