After his death last week at the age of 58, Simon & Schuster will be reprinting 10,000 copies of revered New York Times critic and columnist David Carr's 2008 memoir, The Night of the Gun. According to Cary Goldstein, v-p, executive director of publicity at S&S, the new run is to keep up with a surge in demand.
The book, in which Carr investigates and reports on his years as a crack addict, chronicling his journey from addiction to the country's leading newspaper, is, as of this writing, out of stock on Amazon.
Goldstein added that the publisher is "presently exploring ways to celebrate [Carr's] extraordinary career appropriately, and to introduce new readers to The Night of the Gun."
