Simon & Schuster UK has announced a new sales structure, bringing together the adult and children's teams while creating two divisions organized by channels. The divisions are bookshop, online and digital sales, and mass market and special sales.
Dominic Brendon becomes sales director for bookshops, online and digital. Brendon and his team will take responsibility for sales to Waterstones, WHS Travel, wholesale, independents and Ireland, as well as online and digital accounts.
Laura Hough becomes sales director, mass market, special sales and children's. She will have responsibility for the children's sales budget, though sales will be handled by both divisions.
The international sales department will take on distributed sales, and will be led by Rumana Haider, who has been promoted to International Sales Director. Haider will work with Simon & Schuster colleagues in the U.S., Canada, Australia and India.
Gill Richardson, S&S group sales director, said: "We are particularly fortunate to have such a strong group of sales professionals to take Simon & Schuster UK forward, and these promotions are testament to the talent, passion and experience of our three directors. This new structure positions us to deliver to an even higher standard in an extremely competitive market, driving innovation and partnering more effectively with retailers to take our brilliant authors to readers everywhere."
