Geoff Kloske, current publisher of Riverhead Books, has been named president of the Penguin Random House imprint.
Kloske became publisher of Riverhead in 2006. This year the imprint hit a high note, releasing a number of successful and critically acclaimed titles, Paula Hawkins' breakout bestseller Girl on the Train, and Marlon James' Man Booker-winning A Brief History of Seven Killings.
Madeline McIntosh, president of Penguin, said Kloske's promotion is well-deserved. "This imprint is populated with talented individuals," she said. "But it does take one in particular to bring the team together and pave the way for them to shine, and that is what Geoff does every day."
