Kensington Publishing will add a mass market paperback line to its Lyrical Press imprint, the digital first line that it bought in January 2014.
Kensington will release the first title in the mass market line in January 2018. The line will feature work by authors whose title have previously only appeared in e-book format under the Lyrical imprint and who have, the publisher said, "gained a following."
After its launch in January 2018, the Lyrical Press print line will release one “competitively priced” mass market title per month, Kensington said. All releases will have a simultaneous e-book edition.
Three Lyrical authors have already been signed to the program. Leah Marie Brown, author of Lyrical’s It Girls series, will lead off the line in January 2018. Heather Heyford, author of the Napa Wine Heiresses series and upcoming Wine Country Romance series, and Jenna Jaxon, author of the House of Pleasure series, will follow Brown in subsequent months.
Alexandra Nicolajsen, Kensington’s director of social media and digital sales, says that adding a print line to Lyrical "will increase the Lyrical footprint in all formats—giving authors an opportunity for a wide in-store presence, which will further grow readership across the board.”
