Hachette Book Group has restructured its sales staff in the wake of its acquisition of Perseus's publishing division.
Adam Schnitzer, executive director of online and digital dales and publisher liaison for all Perseus imprints, will oversee sales of all physical and digital Perseus titles to Amazon. National account manager Marty Gosser will sell all Perseus titles to Barnes & Noble and B&N College, while national account manager Laura Shepherd will sell Perseus titles to Ingram, Baker & Taylor, and Brodart.
As part of the restructuring, the position of executive director of field sales will be eliminated, and as a result, Mike Heuer will leave the company effective August 1. V-p of national accounts Maha Khalil and national account manager James Chan will also leave the company at the end of the year.
Ali Coughlin has been promoted to director of online sales, and will continue handling physical and digital sales of HBG titles to Amazon.
In the field/independent bookstore sales department, Elizabeth Guess has been promoted to east coast sales representative for field and independent bookstore sales, and Lily Goldman has been promoted to telephone sales representative and account marketing manager of the same.
In international sales, Sharon Huerta has been promoted to executive director of special sales, and Teuta Bakalli will be promoted to special sales coordinator. The company will also hire an international sales director. A new sales manager will be hired to replace Huerta in the Canadian office.
The sales analytics team will add one analyst reporting to director of analytics Shiauping Shih. Client services has added Laura Fernandez as coordinator working on Hachette U.K. titles.
