Rizzoli New York will launch Rizzoli Electa, a new imprint focusing on museum and exhibitions publishing, in collaboration with new parent company Mondadori Electa, in January 2018. Rizzoli Electa will replace Skira Rizzoli, a recently-dissolved joint venture, as the publisher's museum and exhibition catalog publishing arm.
The imprint will publish current frontlist and backlist titles in the category that were previously published by Skira Rizzoli, as well as future museum and exhibition, art, and architecture titles originating in Italy. As books go back in for reprint, Skira Rizzoli will be changed to Rizzoli Electa.
Rizzoli president and publisher Charles Miers will helm the new imprint with Rizzoli Electa associate publisher Margaret Chace, and both will report to Rizzoli International Publications president and CEO Marco Ausenda. They will also work with v-p of sales and marketing Jennifer Pierson and v-p of finance and administration Randy Barlow.
"With the help of Rizzoli New York and its editorial and distribution strengths in the English speaking world, Mondadori Electa will now be able to implement an ambitious international expansion program," Antonio Porro, Mondadori Electa CEO, said in a statement.
