St. Martin's Press has announced a number of personnel changes, including the promotion of Jen Enderlin to role of sole publisher of the Macmillan division. Since 2016, Enderlin has shared publishing responsibilities at SMP with Sally Richardson, who has been named SMP chairman. Both Richardson (who has been at SMP for 48 years) and Enderlin will report to Macmillan president Don Weisberg..
Enderlin will now oversee the day-to-day operations of the company. Richardson, Weisberg said in his memo, will have various roles at the company, "paying particular attention to our international rights and publishing business."
The changes at the top of SMP have led to a realignment accompanied by various promotions, the most important of which is the appointment of Andrew Martin to senior v-p and executive publishing director of SMP, reporting to Enderlin. Martin, in his new role, will continue to oversee Minotaur Books, while also being responsible for all of SMP's publishing teams.Anne Marie Talberg has been named v-p publishing director of St. Martin's Paperbacks and Griffin.
In other changes Leslie Gelbman has been named executive editor at large; Joel Fotinos has been bumped up to v-p and editorial director; and Tom Dunne has been named v-p, executive editor, and publisher of Thomas Dunne Books.All three will now report to Enderlin.
Martin announced some changes of his own, including the promotion of Laura Clark to v-p and associate publisher of nonfiction.
In their joint statement, Weisberg and Richardson said: "We are facing a time when the market has never been tougher and the competition more fierce, but we know we have all the players and resources in hand to tackle the future."
When asked if the realignment would result in any layoffs, SMP declined to comment.
