Sales and marketing operations for HarperCollins Christian Publishing are now under one senior v-p for sales and centralized marketing, Mark Schoenwald, HCCP president and CEO, announced.
Doug Lockhart, an industry veteran with more than 11 years with HCCP, most recently as senior v-p of marketing and business partnerships, takes on the new position. The move is being made, HCCP said, to reflect the surge in online sales that has made physical retailers invest more in their own digital marketing efforts. Lockhart's new role is to “integrate marketing expertise more robustly into the company’s retail partner strategy,” HCCP said.
Lockhart said his focus will be “sharing information between teams to improve the customer journey experience" in an effort to "maximize our author’s exposure at retail,” according to the company.
The realignment affects HarperCollins Christian Publishing, comprised of the Thomas Nelson, Zondervan and HarperChristian Resources publishing groups, and the three-year-old HarperCollins Focus division, which offers secular-but-inspiring advice and mentorship with imprints including HarperCollins Leadership, Harper Horizon, and Harper Muse.
