Self-published authors Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti will rerelease their BookTok-beloved Zodiac Academy romantasy series under Dark Ink Publishing, a new publishing company formed by the sisters. Peckham and Valenti will serve as copublishers of Dark Ink, which is based in the U.K., and its titles will be distributed in the U.S. by Simon & Schuster.
Dark Ink's inaugural title, released in paperback yesterday, is Restless Stars, the ninth and final book in the Zodiac Academy series. Restless Stars has an announced first print run of 80,000 copies. The hashtag #ZodiacAcademy has more than 251 million views on TikTok.
Beginning this summer, Dark Ink will rerelease in paperback the previous eight titles in the Zodiac Academy series, "repackaged with significant enhancements including new covers and a bonus chapter in each edition," according to a release. The first book in the series, The Awakening, is slated for June 25, and the remaining books will be published through 2025.
According to Dark Ink, Zodiac Academy has sold more than 2.8 million copies across formats, and has maintained a presence in Amazon's 100 bestselling books for more than a year.
Dark Ink will also release the first book in a new series by Peckham and Valenti, called Never Keep, on July 30, with other installments to follow. In addition, the company intends to release titles by other authors, but no details have been announced.
