Penguin Random House has announced the forthcoming paperback edition of Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, which will be released in the U.S. on October 22.
Random House will put out the paperback in the U.S., with Transworld publishing the memoir in the U.K. on October 24. The edition will be released in 16 languages in markets including Asia, Europe, and South America. The hardcover edition was published in a total of 37 languages.
Spare was #3 on PW’s yearly bestseller list for 2023, selling 1.2 million copies through outlets that report to NPD BookScan; Penguin Random House reports that the book has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide and set a Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling nonfiction book.
In its review, Publishers Weekly called Spare an “anguished, searching, and occasionally vindictive memoir,” adding: “The mix of dirty laundry and earnest soul-baring sometimes jars, but Harry’s frustrations are deeply felt and authentically conveyed, as is the joy he takes in nature and in his friendships. This royal family tell-all delivers."
