A new study about the Bible and public life has found that the King James translation of the Bible retains remarkable popularity after more than 400 years. The Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis found that more than half of the individuals it surveyed and two-fifths of congregations still prefer this version, which celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2011.
