Ann Voskamp, bestselling author of One Thousand Gifts (Zondervan, 2011) has raised more than $800,000 since May 18, when ISIS seized the city of Ramadi and she wrote a blog post exhorting readers to donate funds to support for refugees fleeing the terrorists. Voskamp partnered in this effort with Preemptive Love Coalition, an American organization in Iraq.
InterVarsity Press author Christena Cleveland (Disunity in Christ: Uncovering the Hidden Forces that Keep Us Apart) has been appointed director of the Center for Reconciliation (CFR) and associate professor of the practice of reconciliation at Duke Divinity School effective July 1. She is currently an associate professor of reconciliation studies in the department of anthropology, sociology, and reconciliation studies at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn. In 2014, Cleveland was named by Christianity Today magazine as one of “33 Under 33” key millennial leaders in Christianity. IVP has partnered with Duke’s Center for Reconciliation to publish IVP’s Resources for Reconcilation series. Cleveland’s Disunity in Christ received a 2013 Leadership Journal Book Award.
