A memoir by an Italian nun who recalls being raped and abused by her parish priest leads today’s religion and spirituality news roundup. Also, the Chicago Tribune listed three spiritual-based books to check out, and the author of ‘Miracles From Heaven’ answers questions about the new film adaptation of her book.

The Catholic Church is supporting the publication of Giulia and the Wolf: A Story of Sexual Abuse in the Church by a 40-year-old nun who has not been identified. The book details the nun’s rape at age 14 and the continued abuse that took place over the next seven years, according to the Religion News Service. A Catholic publishing house, Ancora, will publish the title in Italy on March 31.

The Chicago Tribune highlighted three books on religion and spirituality in its roundup, including Jonathan Sacks’ Not In God’s Name. Titles by John Shelby Spong and Pulitzer Prize-winner Mary Oliver also made the list.

Christy Beam, the author of Miracles From Heaven, recently discussed the book and its brand new film adaptation starring Jennifer Garner, revealing, “It’s the fastest book-to-screen in cinema history.” The book was first published by Hachette in April 2015.
