In a reorganization, Franciscan Media appointed Kelly McCracken to the newly created role of president, while Tom Shumate, COO, has been named to CFO. McCracken joined the company as director of shared services in April 2014.
In her new role, McCracken will help develop the long-term vision and strategic plans for Franciscan Media to ensure its sustainability in the digital age.
“Our mission is to help Catholics grow in their faith, and publishing books is core within our ministry,” McCracken told PW. “However, we have several other products. As [with] all media companies, our marketplace continues to evolve, and we continue to reinvent ourselves to fulfill our mission in a changing environment.”
Other products at Franciscan Media include audiobooks, a radio show, a blog, and newsletters. The company, established by Franciscan friars in the 1890’s, publishes the national magazine St. Anthony Messenger, as well as Franciscan Media Books and Servant Books.
