New Harbinger Press (NHP), the Oakland, Calif.-based publisher best known for its psychology and self-help books, is launching a new spirituality imprint, Reveal Press.
The imprint, led by NHP’s v-p of development Catharine Meyers, solidifies the press' expansion into the spirituality category. In 2007, the house published The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer, which was featured on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday in 2012,and has sold more than 1 million copies, according to NHP. Last year, NHP expanded its spirituality program with the acquisition of Non-Duality Press and signed a co-publishing agreement with Sahaja Publications for the work of spiritual teacher Rupert Spira (The Transparency of Things).
First titles under the Reveal Press imprint will be released next year; Embodied Enlightenment: Living Your Awakening in Every Moment by Amoda Maa (June) and Writing to Awaken: A Journey of Truth, Transformation, and Self-Discovery by Mark Matousek (July). NHP plans to publish 5-7 Reveal Press books per year.
Meyers told PW, “Our hope is that readers find new wisdom for living consciously in our modern world, where we need to bring wisdom from the meditation cushion into everyday life.”
