‘The Nester’ Lands A Double
Jenni Burke of D.C. Jacobson & Associates sold world rights to Zondervan’s Carolyn McCready for two books by Myquillyn Smith, known online as The Nester due to her blog on homemaking, Nesting Place. The first book will be based on Smith’s online course, Cozy Minimalism, and is set to release in fall 2018.
FaithWords Gets ‘Enough’
Keren Baltzer at FaithWords took world rights to Enough, the next book by Mandy Hale (The Single Woman). In it, Hale offers her perspective of love, relationships, and faith and shares the lessons on self-worth she’s learned in the past year, according to the publisher. Enough is scheduled to be published in December 2018.
Stetzer Doubles Up at IVP
Ed Stetzer, executive director of the Billy Graham training center in Asheville, N.C., landed a two-book, world rights deal with InterVarsity Press’ Al Hsu. The first book, The Evangelical Landscape, is slated to be published in spring 2019. It examines the roots of evangelicalism and where it stands today, according to the publisher. The second book in the deal, Entrepreneurial Evangelicalism, focuses on innovations in ministry and the religious configuration that has taken place as a result of the rising popularity of non-denominational churches. Whitaker Signs Carol Burton McLeod
Whitaker House’s Bob Whitaker Jr. took world rights to Guide Your Mind, Guard Your Heart, Grace Your Tongue by Carol Burton McLeod (No More Ordinary). The book, which is slated for publication in April 2018, addresses “warped feelings and slurred thinking,” according to the publisher, and it includes strategies for processing emotions more efficiently in order to improve communication.
Teacher Sells Debut to Sparkhouse
Adria Goetz at Martin Literary Management sold world rights to When Day is Done by debut author Natalee Creech to Sparkhouse’s Naomi Krueger. The picture book, designed to be read before bed, portrays a world that is going to sleep. It is slated for release in 2019.
Multnomah Nabs a Book on Satire
Kendall Davis at WaterBrook and Multnomah took world rights to How to Be a Perfect Christian: Your Comprehensive Guide to Flawless Spiritual Living, a book by the team behind the satirical Christian news website, The Babylon Bee. The book, which will release in May 2018, is “a refreshing and hilarious take on modern, American Christianity,” according to Davis. The deal was brokered by Andrew Wolgemuth of Wolgemuth & Associates.
