Christian Pop Star Lands at FaithWords
Esther Fedorkevich and Whitney Gossett at The Fedd Agency sold world rights to FaithWords’ Keren Baltzer for Pull it Off: How to Remove Fear and Put on Confidence by Julianna Zobrist. The book, which is slated for publication in September 2018, explores women’s issues surrounding authority, identity, and security by drawing on Zobrist’s experiences as Christian pop singer who is married to Ben Zobrist of the Chicago Cubs.
Sky’s the ‘Limit’ for Fortress
Fortress editor Tony Jones took world rights from Greg Daniel at the Daniel Literary Group to Love without Limits, a follow-up book to 2016’s Outlaw Christian by theologian Jacqueline A. Bussie. In her upcoming book, Bussie defends her belief that God loves all people—regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or ability—and encourages Christian readers to unite despite their differences, according to the publisher. Love without Limits is expected to be published in July 2018.
Sandi Patty Signs with Zondervan
Gospel Hall of Fame inductee Sandi Patty is bringing a memoir, The Voice, to Zondervan. In it, the singer will explore her struggles with identity and self-expression before detailing how she began listening for God's voice, according to the publisher. The Voice is slated for publication in November 2018. Esther Fedorkevich at The Fedd Agency brokered the world rights deal with Zondervan's executive editor Sandra Vander Zicht.
Kregel Confronts Fairytales
WordServe Literary’s Keely Boeving sold world rights to Kregel publisher Dennis Hillman for After the Ball Fall: How to Build Happily Ever After in an Age of Broken Fairytales by clinical psychologist and a professor of psychology at Westmont College Andrea Gurney. Going on sale in spring 2019, the book explores unrealistic concepts about love and provides a guide to fostering Christ-centered relationships.
Literary Agent, Editor Team Up
In a world rights deal, IVP editor Al Hsu bought Enduring: Sweat, Grace and a Life Well-Lived by managing editor of Women of God Magazine Trillia Newbell and literary agent Erik Wolgemuth. The book, categorized under Christian living, draws parallels between sports and life’s obstacles. It’s slated for publication in 2019. Andrew Wolgemuth of Wolgemuth and Associates represented the authors in the deal.
Whitaker Adds ‘Six Hearts’
Whitaker House acquisition editor Bob Whitaker Jr. bought world rights to Six Hearts of Sexual Intimacy: Understanding the Way Your Spouse Gives and Receives Love by husband and wife duo Robert and Cheryl Moeller, founders of the marriage ministry For Keeps. The book, which features a forward by Gary Chapman (The Five Love Languages), examines the five languages for sex in marriage and presents steps married couples can take to create intimacy. Six Hearts of Sexual Intimacy is scheduled to be published in August 2018. The authors were represented by Chip MacGregor at MacGregor Literary.
Paraclete Faces the Music
For Paraclete, Jon Sweeney inked a world rights deal with publishing veteran and a contributing writer for PW Henry Carrigan for Fifteen Spirituals that Will Change Your Life. The book examines songs and hymns such as Amazing Grace and explores how “music touches peoples’ hearts in ways that words often fail to do,” according to the author. It’s expected to be published in September 2018.
