Gun Control Advocate Lands at Chalice
Rev. Sharon Washington Risher, whose mother and two cousins were killed in the 2015 shooting at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C., has signed with Chalice Press for a book about grief, anger, forgiveness, and faith, as well as the effects of gun violence on communities. Brad Lyons, president and publisher of Chalice, took North American, English rights to the book, tentatively titled What A Day That Will Be, from Lynn Johnston of Lynn Johnston Literary. The book will be co-written by writer Sherri Wood Emmons and is slated for publication in June 2019, coinciding with the four-year anniversary of the shooting.
Harvest House Sees Red
Todd Hafer of Harvest House took world rights from Adria Goetz of Martin Literary to Threads with Red by Lisa Hennessy. The book is a knit-along devotional featuring simple knitting patterns and exercises that encourage readers to share both their knitting projects and their faith with others. Threads with Red is slated for publication in summer 2019.
