YouTube Stars Land at Zondervan
Zondervan’s associate publisher Stephanie Smith acquired a memoir by Chris and Emily Norton, whose wedding video posted to YouTube went viral last year. In it, Emily supports her husband, a quadriplegic, as he walks down the aisle. Their book, The Seven Longest Yards, details Chris’s high school football injury, which left him with a 3% chance of ever walking again, and his journey toward recovery with Emily's help. The book is scheduled to be published on July 9. Rick Richter with Aevitas Creative Management represented the Nortons in the world rights deal.
IVP Finds a ‘True Companion’
Kathy Helmers of Creative Trust sold world rights to IVP’s Cindy Bunch for two books by clinical psychologist, blogger, and author Kelly M. Flanagan (Loveable). The first book, tentatively titled True Companions, takes a critical look at the demand for unconditional love in marriage and other intimate relationships, according to the publisher. It’s slated for publication in February 2020. The second book is to be determined. Both titles will have companion study guides.
