Barbour Publishing announced the promotion of current president Mary Burns to president and CEO. Burns first joined Barbour 24 years ago and most recently served as v-p of marketing before taking on the role of president in early 2018.
Based in Uhrichsville, Oh., Barbour publishes 180-200 books and Bibles a year. It became employee-owned in 2017.
“We have an outstanding team here at Barbour and I’m honored to be able to be involved and work with each of them to form our future,” Burns, who is also on the board of directors at the ECPA, said in a statement. “As an ESOP, everyone has a chance to contribute and benefit from our success and that is truly exciting.”
She replaces Timothy Martins, who will stay on as chairman of the board of directors.
