Damon Reiss, formerly senior director for HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP)'s custom and backlist program and sales division, has been named v-p and publisher of Thomas Nelson's W Publishing imprint, which focuses on nonfiction books.
Reiss's experience includes nearly 17 years in the publishing industry, including a tele-sales representative role before joining Thomas Nelson in 2011 as a key account manager for ministry sales. Reiss was promoted to lead the company's custom publishing program in 2016, working to redevelop backlist products including revised editions of books and Bibles.
In his new role, Reiss will lead acquisition, editorial, and marketing strategy while also maintaining relationships with W Publishing authors and discovering new Christian voices. He reports to Don Jacobson, senior v-p and books group publisher for HCCP.
News of Reiss's promotion follows the appointment of Jacobson and, more recently, Philip Nation, to publisher roles at HCCP.
