Zondervan Signs Charles Stanley’s Prayer Guide
Zondervan acquisition editor Mick Silva bought North American rights from Mel Berger at William Morris Endeavor to a new book by Charles Stanley (The Will of God), a pastor, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the author of over 60 books. The new book, tentatively titled What to Pray When You Don't Know What to Pray, collects 150 of Stanley’s prayers across his decades in ministry as well as his teachings on prayer for any situation. It’s slated for publication in fall 2021.
Becky Harling Re-Ups with Bethany
In a world rights deal brokered by Blythe Daniel of the Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc., Harvest House senior editor Jeff Braun bought How to Listen So Your Kids Will Talk by Becky Harling. Scheduled for publication in spring 2021, the book is a follow-up to How to Listen So People Will Talk (2017), and aims to help parents understand their child and develop their unique strengths.
Fortress Doubles Up
Lil Copan at Fortress Press bought world rights for two books by Pádraig Ó Tuama—a theologian and former leader of Corrymeela, Ireland’s oldest peace and reconciliation community. The first book, Storywork, explores the powerful communication tool of storytelling and ways readers can meaningfully craft stories that serve their own lives and communities.. It's slated for publication in fall 2021. The second book in the deal, PS: The Bobolinks Are Gone: A Year with Emily Dickinson, features a year of weekly readings and reflections on the poems, letters, and life of Emily Dickinson, according to the publisher. It will be released in fall 2022. Ó Tuama represented himself in the deal.
