Love Inspired, Harlequin’s inspirational romance imprint, is launching a trade paperback fiction publishing program in spring 2021 that will feature additional inspirational content.
The Love Inspired trade paperback line is currently accepting original, agented manuscripts of 80,000-100,000 words that fall within a variety of genres, such as romantic suspense, historical fiction, historical romance, Amish fiction, and contemporary women’s fiction. The new program, Harlequin said, will continue to have the key elements of Love Inspired titles, such as strong Christian characters whose faith enables them to overcome challenges, and clean, hopeful stories.
The success of the Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense romance lines, which feature characters of faith who face complicated issues of life and love in today’s world, has inspired the expansion, according to executive editor Tina James.
“The trade imprint’s longer word count will allow for more complex stories and characters, and I’m excited to see the first submissions,” James said in a press release.
