David Moberg, formerly group publisher of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, and Byron Williamson, former president and CEO of Worthy Publishing, are jointly launching a consulting firm. Moberg | Williamson Consulting will serve publishers and other mass media clients in areas such as new growth strategies, creative content development, sales opportunities, and management, according to a press release.
Prior to the new consulting firm, Moberg spent nearly 30 years with Thomas Nelson and HarperCollins Christian Publishing. For his part, Williamson stepped down in October as president of Worthy, which was acquired by Hachette Nashville in 2018. Both have experience acquiring new businesses and founding imprints, as well as with developing and marketing bestselling books and Bibles.
“We look forward to bringing our collective experience to the table in order to help publishers, media businesses, corporate asset holders, content developers, as well as ministries and others working in today’s challenging business environment," Williamson said in a statement.
Noting over four decades of experience in the publishing industry, Moberg added: “It’s more challenging today than ever, but with new perspectives, innovative thinking, and a fresh vision, we believe the opportunity to create successful new media communications models is enormous.”
