Zondervan Tackles Anxiety
In a world rights deal brokered directly with the author, Zondervan associate publisher Stephanie Smith bought a book tentatively titled The 30-Day Anxiety Detox by Brittney Moses. The book features daily readings based on the Bible and aimed at coping with and overcoming anxiety. It’s slated for publication in spring 2022.
Emmy Kegler Reups at Broadleaf
Lisa Kloskin at Broadleaf Books acquired world rights directly from author Emmy Kegler to A Better Prescription. In it, Kegler combines personal experience, psychological treatment, theological reflection, pastoral care, and practical guidance for supporting those with mental health struggles. It is scheduled for publication in fall 2021.
IVP Signs Up for a New Series
IVP editors Anna Moseley Gissing and Ethan McCarthy took world rights to a new series tentatively titled The Fullness of Time: A Journey Through the Church Year. It will be edited by Esau McCaulley, assistant professor of the New Testament at Wheaton College. Each of the six books in the series "will bring together diverse voices and backgrounds that will serve as theological/spiritual introductions and reflections on each season of the church year," according to the publisher, with the first two books slated for publication in winter 2022. Contributors will include teachers and pastors Tish Harrison Warren, Emily Hunter McGowin, Fleming Rutledge, McCaulley, Wesley Hill, and Emilio Alvarez. The deal was unagented.
