Our Daily Bread Ministries, a global producer of multimedia Christian resources and the parent company of Our Daily Bread Publishing (formerly Discovery House), announced the hiring of publishing veteran Chriscynethia Floyd as v-p and publisher.
Prior to Our Daily Bread, Floyd served as v-p deputy publisher at Simon & Schuster and v-p of sales and marketing at David C Cook. In addition, Floyd worked for HarperCollins Christian Publishing as senior director of sales and then v-p of marketing. She has also been a national book buyer at Barnes & Noble. Her experience includes collaborations with authors such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rick Warren, Kirk Cousins, Ben Carson, and Sally Lloyd-Jones.
In her new role, Floyd will oversee all U.S. publishing at Our Daily Bread, including trade books, children’s books, gifts, video series, devotionals, and Bible studies. She will be based in Grand Rapids. Mich.
Floyd replaces Ken Petersen, who is pursuing freelance writing, editing, and consulting, according to Our Daily Bread.
“Chriscynethia’s vast experience in Christian and secular publishing – with leadership roles across editorial, sales, and marketing – brings a wealth of expertise to our partners," Rick DeHaan, president of Our Daily Bread Ministries, said in a release. "Our internal teams and gracious supporters will benefit from her success in launching New York Times bestsellers and understanding our market’s ever-changing needs."
