Lifeway Women Revives In-Person Live Events Series
Lifeway Women Live, after a pandemic year of virtual events, has set April, August and September for three in-person events. These will star an array of renowned Bible teachers and bestselling Christian authors from Lifeway and B&H Publishing speaking under the banner of “Pursuing Christ Together.”
Women are hungry to study, laugh and cry together in person, said Betsy Langmade, manager of Lifeway Women events. “While women are resilient and creative and have found ways to do this, this past year has been a far cry from camaraderie and sisterhood you feel when standing in a room at a conference or sitting in a room doing a Bible study with a handful of other people. We were made to experience loud laughs and flowing tears together.” For those who can’t attend the Hendersonville, Tenn., events, the programs will be simulcast.
The series kicks off April 17 with: Jackie Hill Perry (Holier Than Thou: How God's Holiness Helps Us Trust Him, Fall 2021); Kristi McLelland (Jesus and Women: In the First Century and Now); Kelly Minter (Encountering God: Cultivating Habits of Faith Through the Spiritual Disciplines, Lifeway, Nov. 2021); Jamie Ivey (Complement: The Surprising Beauty of Choosing Together Over Separate in Marriage); Ruth Chou Simons (TruthFilled: The Practice of Preaching to Yourself Through Every Season); Lisa Harper (How Much More: Discovering God's Extravagant Love in Unexpected Places, July 2021). The emcee will be Angie Smith (Woven: Understanding the Bible as One Seamless Story).
Later events will feature Lysa TerKeurst, Jennifer Rothschild, and Jen Wilkin.
NavPress to Offer Scripture Memory Skills to Kids
NavPress, an imprint of Tyndale House, has adapted the Bible memorization skills program for adults to youngsters with Topical Memory System for Kids, releasing July 6. It’s an 18-week program with verse cards, games, and a devotional guide that families can use at their own pace.
IVP Locks in with Christian Audio
Christian Audio has signed InterVarsity Press to an exclusive publishing partnership as part of its campaign to expand market relationships for the 10-year-old ChristianAudio.com site. The new deal expands IVP's presence in the Christian Audio catalog, which already includes The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile, The Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith, and Prayer in the Night by Tish Harrison Warren.
Justin Paul Lawrence, IVP’s senior director of sales and marketing, said, “We’re seeing a golden age of audio in a variety of formats, and we’re happy to be able to be a small part of it with this new venture.”
