Two Authors Address Paths to Healing
Matt West, CEO and founder of Dexterity, has acquired Healing Out Loud by Sandi Brown, founder of the Christian radio station, Joy FM, and Michelle Caulk, a practicing Christian counselor. The book combines Brown’s personal journey to feel “enough” with the counseling process that helped her find spiritual peace, with Caulk's professional guidance in a book designed to help women overcome the unhealthy thoughts they have about themselves. Dexterity acquired world rights and a spring 2022 release is planned.
Beacon Takes Title Examining Disability in the Bible
Associate editorial director Amy Caldwell at Beacon Press took North American rights from Sharon Pelletier of Dystel, Goderich & Bourret for a new book by disability activist, religious scholar, and rabbi Julia Watts Belser. Part spiritual companion and part political manifesto, Breath and Bone: Disability Politics and the Bible will reread biblical stories through the prism of the author’s own lived experience. Her new account of disability in biblical narrative and contemporary culture will show that disability is a source of profound spiritual insight. Publication is slated for fall 2023.
