Viral Sermon Series to Become Book with WaterBrook
Michael Todd, bestselling author of Relationship Goals, will publish Crazy Faith with the Random House imprint, WaterBrook. The book, to be released Sept. 21, 2021, is based on a viral sermon series of the same name that has been viewed over 10 million times. The author defines “crazy faith” as “having thoughts and actions that lack reason but trusting fully in what you cannot explicitly prove,” according to the publisher. World rights were acquired by editorial director Andrew Stoddard from Alex Field at The Bindery.
Social Media Expert to Publish with Tyndale
Tyndale House signed Jonni Parsons, a social media expert and owner of the digital marketing agency Sunday Morning Marketing. Her book, tentatively titled Ignited, and an accompanying workbook, are set to be released in fall 2022. Ignited empathizes with and empowers readers to keep their passion and fire for God alive despite the unavoidable feelings of anxiety and fear that accompany real life. The Ignited workbook offers action steps. Kara Leonini, senior acquisitions editor, acquired world rights to the books from Blythe Daniel of The Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc.
W Publishing Group Signs Infertility Book
Kyle Olund, senior acquisitions editor at W Publishing Group, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, signed Jenn Hesse and Kelley Ramsey, co-founders of the website Waitinginhopeinfertility.com, for a book tentatively titled Waiting In Hope. The forthcoming work, set to be published in April 2023, will combine personal narratives and Bible verses to give women a resource to comfort and guide them through the journey of waiting for a child and will address specific aspects of infertility. World rights were negotiated by Blythe Daniel of The Blythe Daniel Agency, Inc.
'The Babylon Bee' editors to publish with Salem Books
Salem Books, the Christian imprint of Regnery Publishing, announces a book deal with the editors behind The Babylon Bee, the conservative Christian satire site best known for its tongue-in-cheek commentary on culture. The Babylon Bee Guide to Wokeness, by editor in chief Kyle Mann and managing editor Joel Berry, will release in November 2021, with world rights negotiated by Steve Laube of the Steve Laube Agency. Said Salem Books publisher Tim Peterson, “For years I have been one of the eight million people who turn to The Babylon Bee each month for entertainment. I’ve laughed out loud at their reports, and sometimes said, ‘Oh my gosh. Did they really just write that? Publishing a book with them will be a career highlight. We expect sales to be robust.”
