Kristina Vandiver has joined Christian publisher Kregel as director of its two imprints, Kregel Academic and Ministry (KAM), in a response to growing interest in the categories, according to the publisher.
Prior to joining Kregel, Vandiver most recently served in a product management role at Faithlife. Her experience also includes marketing and product development roles at Lifeway Christian Resources. In her new role, Vandiver is responsible for leading the KAM team as well as spearheading strategic marketing and editorial initiatives for the imprints, which publish 15-18 books per year. Vandiver’s position had been vacant since 2021 following Laura Bartlett's departure.
While Kregel has no plans for additional hires at this time, “KAM is on a growth trend at Kregel, and so we’ll be watching this and evaluating how we can best support it,” says Kregel publisher Catherine Devries. “We continue to utilize several core staff as well as freelancers, and so we can flex with the needs of our publishing list.”
Speaking to PW about the new role, Vandiver cited Kregel’s “long and respected reputation” in academic as well as Christian publishing. “It is a privilege to join the team and to work hand-in-hand with them to grow their strong academic and ministry titles and the spectrum of voices their content represents across a variety of platforms,” she says. “I’m especially eager to continue the good work already established in the Kerux Commentary series for preaching, and the Through Old Testament Eyes series with great authors like Tremper Longman III.”
