IVP Academic has named three people on the editorial team to new roles intended to strengthen and grow their opportunities to acquire books across a wide range of university disciplines, said Jon Boyd, associate publisher and academic editorial director, who announced the promotions.
Rebecca Carhart, who first joined IVP in 2012, moves from her current position as a project editor to be an associate academic editor, developing new books and working with authors throughout the publishing process. Colton Bernasol moves from assistant project editor to an expanded role as associate project editor concentrating on acquiring, developing, and publishing works by scholars in theology and philosophy, said Boyd. Bernasol was a research assistant at Wheaton College and a graduate assistant in multicultural student affairs for the Latino/a/e community at Northwestern University before joining IVP a year ago. Zach Gordon, who joined IVP in August 2021, with a master’s degree in theology, takes on an expanded project portfolio as associate academic managing editor. He will now be shepherding the Reformation Commentary on Scripture (RCS and other academic titles through production and contributing to the editorial process as well, said Boyd, citing his theological and biblical chops."
