Singer’s Story to Cook
Dove-nominated recording artist Jaime Jamgochian has sold world rights to an as-yet-untitled Christian living book to Susan McPherson of David C Cook. The book, Jamgochian's first, will be published on Cook’s Esther Imprint, and is based on the singer's story of overcoming adversity. Debbie Alsdorf of Books & Such Literary Agency brokered the deal. Jamgochian tours nationally, speaking and singing at women’s conferences and the Aspire Women’s Tour. The book is set for an October 2025 publication.
Focus Takes Four Simple Science Titles
Larry Weeden, editor-in-chief of book publishing at Focus on the Family, has taken world rights to Super Simple Science by Dr. Fizzlebop, a four-book series of board books for ages 2-5 by Brock Eastman, an award-winning author of more than three dozen books. Eastman was represented by Karen Neumair of Credo Communications.
The series includes Dr. Fizzlebop’s: Super Simple Alphabet and Animals; Super Simple Colors and Counting; Super Simple Space Sciences; Super Simple Weather Science, all tentative titles. The books are all scheduled for a January 2026 publication.
Embracing Diversity to IVP
Nilwona Nowlin at IVP has acquired world rights to James Borishade’s tentatively titled Irreconcilable Differences. Dan Balow of the Steve Laube Agency negotiated the deal.
IVP said the book explores the power of embracing diversity, offering strategies for "turning disparities into strengths, forging deeper connections, and fostering more resilient relationships." Borishade is executive director and CEO of Circle Urban Ministries in Chicago. The book is scheduled for Fall 2025 release.
IVP Takes Devotional
Al Hsu at IVP has has signed world rights to a new devotional by Donna Barber. Tentatively titled Living on Manna, the Fall 2025 release will use the power of story to remind readers that God shows up in the day-to-day happenings of our lives, all centered in the rich culture of the African American church and community. Barber (who represented herself in the deal) is executive director and co-founder of The Voices Project, an educator, minister and mentor.
Leach Book to Zondervan, Curriculums to HarperChristian
Tom Dean of A Drop of Ink Literary has negotiated world rights on multiple projects by Tara Beth Leach, senior pastor at Good Shepherd Church in Illinois. The deals include The Great Morning Revolution book and curriculum, both set to release in September 2025. The book project was acquired by Kyle Rohane at Zondervan Reflective, and the curriculum by Sara Reimersma at HarperChristian Resources, who also acquired the Threaded curriculum, which will publish in March 2025.
According to the publishers, The Great Morning Revolution book and video curriculum is an invitation to the daily practice of rising in the morning in the presence of God before reaching for the phone. The Threaded video curriculum leads participants through the story of God, "a grand narrative tied together by the thread of redemption via God’s covenant with his people."
Picture Book on Mary to Paulist
Paul McMahon of Paulist Press has bought world rights to Our Mother Too: The World Embraces Mary by Shannon Evans and Eric Clayton, illustrated by Ryan McQuade. Keely Boeving of WordServe Literary negotiated the deal. The publishers said the picture book, for ages 3-8, shows how Mary, inspired by her son Jesus, set out on a worldwide mission to bring the love of God to people in every culture, and reminds young readers that we’re all equally beloved members of God’s one great family. A 2025 release is planned.
Paraclete Takes Easter Guide for Children
Paraclete Press director Lillian Miao has acquired world rights to Rise: A Child's Guide to Eastertide by Laura Alary and illustrated by Giuliano Ferri. Geared to ages 4-8, Rise follows a child through the fifty days of Easter as she shares in family and community celebrations and ponders how growth and new beginnings are part of her life. The author represented herself, and the illustrator was represented by Studio Goodwin Sturges. Publication is slated for January 2025.
