Chosen Takes Book to Restore Families
Chosen Books editorial director Kim Bangs has acquired world rights to speaker and pastor Sherman Dumas’s tentatively titled Family Matters. Jevon Bolden at Embolden Media Group negotiated the deal. Sherman’s book shares spiritual and practical advice to help restore the family unit and thus reform society. Sherman is lead pastor of Kingdom Culture Worship Centre in California and Texas, and author of three other books. Family Matters is scheduled for an April 2026 publication.
IVP Takes Pair from Westfall
IVP editorial director Cindy Bunch has inked a two-book, world-rights deal with Sarah Westfall, host of the Human Together podcast and leader of the online challenge #liturgyofthelittlethings. The first book, tentatively titled All the Little Things, encourages readers to make the choice to be present and pay attention to their lives and celebrate the people and places that make life meaningful. All the Little Things is planned for a Summer 2026 publication. The second book is still in the planning stages. Westfall is presented by Ingrid Beck at The Bindery.
Physician Writes on Mental Health for IVP
Ted Olsen, IVP’s associate publisher and editorial director for media and trade books, has negotiated for world rights to the tentatively titled Church Is Not Therapy by the unagented Matthew Loftus. Loftus looks into trauma, self-care, burnout, attachment theory, addiction and more, plus wrestles with the theological conundrums that mental health and its practitioners face. Loftus is a physician and writer. The book is scheduled for a fall 2025 publication.
New Lowe Novel to Tyndale
Tyndale House fiction publisher Karen Watson bought world English rights to T.I. Lowe’s next novel, South of Somewhere. Lowe (Under the Magnolias) tells the story of a young widowed mother determined to regain custody of her baby daughter after spending time in jail and rehab, due to her struggles with addiction. Danielle Egan-Miller of Browne & Miller Literary Associates brokered the deal. A 2026 publication is planned.
Brazos Signs New Look at Faith
Brazos Press editorial director Katelyn Beaty has taken world rights to Benjamin R. Cremer’s Truth Is a Person via Ashley Hong with Gardener Literary Agency. Through stories, Scripture and his pastoral voice Cremer will help readers trade a fragile and insecure faith rooted in abstract theology for a humble and curious faith rooted in humanity. A spring 2026 release is planned.
Spiritual Abuse Survival to Lake Drive
Lake Drive Books publisher David Morris has taken world rights to Katherine Spearing’s unagented book A Thousand Tiny Paper Cuts: Surviving and Healing from the Impact of Spiritual Abuse. Spearing, founder of the nonprofit supporting survivors of spiritual abuse Tears of Eden, draws on personal experience and work with survivors to explore the impact of spiritual abuse and the process of recovery. A May 2025 publication date is in the works.
IVP Signs Second by Krieg
IVP trade editor Kelli Trujillo has signed a world-rights contract for a second book by Laurie Krieg (writer, speaker, ministry leader, podcaster, and author of An Impossible Marriage: What Our Mixed-Orientation Marriage Has Taught Us About Love and the Gospel). Tentatively titled Raising Wise Kids, IVP said the new book offers "foundational wisdom about marriage, sexuality, gender, body safety and more to provide the next generation the option to choose Jesus." Austin Wilson of Wolgemuth & Wilson handled the deal. The book is scheduled for a fall 2025 release.
