InterVarsity Press has signed deals with Ingram Publishing Services UK and London-based Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK) that will deepen its sales presence in the U.K. and Europe.
Under the agreement with IPS UK, the distributor will warehouse IVP’s titles and fulfill all orders for the U.K. and Europe. The deal goes into effect October 1, 2024. IVP coupled the IPS UK signing with an agreement with SPCK for sales representation in the U.K.
Shane White, VP for sales, marketing, and publicity for IVP, said that while the publisher has had representation in the U.K. and Europe, the new agreements should “significantly impact the reach of IVP’s resources overseas.” Matthew Dickie, senior manager of IPS UK, said, the company is looking forward to maximizing IVP’s sales in new markets.
The new agreement with SPCK, which was founded in 1698, extends the reach of IVP titles overseas through SPCK’s established sales representation. Sam Richardson, CEO for SPCK, said SPCK is “very familiar with [IVP’s] outstanding list and its potential in the U.K. and Europe.” During its long history SPCK has distributed more than 30 million books.
“SPCK has a strong reputation as a longtime, influential Christian publisher in the UK, and we share with them the vision of publishing books that speak into the culture,” said IVP’s White.” We look forward to joining forces with our partners at SPCK to make an even greater impact in the world through life-changing resources.”
