Zondervan Author Wants to Make Bible Study Exciting
Trinity McFadden with The Bindery Agency has negotiated a world rights deal with Zondervan acquiring editor Paul Pastor for the tentatively titled No More Boring Bible Study: How to Read and (Finally) Understand Scripture by content creator, speaker, and founder of How to Faith a Life, Faith Womack. The publisher said the book will offer action steps that “empower readers with tool and confidence—to understand the Bible.” Publication is set for some time in 2026.
Book on Influential Women to Brazos
Brazos Press editorial director Katelyn Beaty has acquired world rights to Church Mothers by Joy Marie Clarkson. Clarkson is a research associate in theology and literature at King's College London and the Books & Culture Editor at Plough, plus the host of host of the Speaking with Joy podcast. Alexander Field at The Bindery Agency negotiated the deal. The book will explore the history and context around influential Christian women by imagining moments in their lives and illuminating each one’s place in Christian history. The book is set for a spring 2026 release.
Brazos Explores Artistic Vocation
Executive editor Bob Hosack at Brazos Press has taken world rights to To Set the World Aflame by W. David O. Taylor, who is unagented. The publisher said Taylor, an Anglican priest who has lectured worldwide on the arts, offers readers a vision for artistic vocation that draws on “theological, historical, pastoral and missional resources, and invests new meaning into the aesthetic aspects of our lives.” Taylor is associate professor of theology and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary and the author or editor of nine previous books. The book is set for a summer 2026 publication.
Paraclete Lands Dragon Slayer
Paraclete Press director Lillian Miao has acquired world rights to Dragon Slayers: The Essential Training Guide for Young Dragon Fighters by Joyce Denham (Sir Wyvern Pugilist), illustrated by Kristina Kister.
For ages 6-12, the publisher said Dragon Slayers is a guide for preparing children for the spiritual dragons they face, the weapons they need for this battle, and the lessons they can learn from the saints, the "Dragon Slayers of Old." The author represented herself, and the illustrator was represented by Robbin Brosterman at the Bright Agency. Publication is slated for May 2025.
Book on Youth Ministry Crisis to IVP
Nilwona Nowlin, associate editor at IVP, has taken world rights to David A. Washington’s tentatively titled Don’t Despise Our Youth. The unagented author speaks to a youth ministry crisis, especially in urban settings, and uses scripture, personal stories and testimonies to inspire readers to serve and/or support youth and youth workers. Washington is the founding pastor of Kingdom Covenant Church Chicago. The book will be published in summer 2025.
Lake Drive Signs Trans Memoir
David Morris, publisher of Lake Drive Books, has acquired world rights to unagented author Nia Chiaramonte’s I Hardly Knew Me: Rediscovering Compassion and Resilience in the Moments of Gender Transition. The memoir by the cofounder of Love in the Face, which supports transgender and LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families, explores emotional themes of self-discovery, resilience and the capacity to love using humor and personal reflection to help readers understand gender transition and themselves. The tentative release date is July 2025.
