Thesis takes Ayaan Hirsi Ali memoir
Bria Sandford, executive editor at Thesis, an imprint of Penguin Random House, has taken North American rights to the tentatively titled Why I Am Now a Christian, by international bestselling author Ayaan Hirsi Ali, from Susanna Lea of Susanna Lea Associates. The memoir traces Ali’s journey from radical Islam to atheism to Christianity, revisiting the events of her life through the lens of a world-famous atheist converting to Christianity. The book is scheduled for a 2026 release.
Hsu takes two for IVP
Al Hsu, associate editorial director for IVP, has acquired world rights, unagented, to the tentatively titled A Radiant Rising, a Lenten and Easter anthology slated for next spring. The latest collection edited by Leslie Leyland Fields and Paul J. Willis (A Radiant Birth) will present curated essays, poems, stories, and meditations by 28 authors from the Chrysostom Society writing community, including Richard Foster, Madeleine L’Engle, Luci Shaw, and Philip Yancey.
Hsu has also bought world rights to Life.Church and HOPE International’s tentatively titled book The Way Back to One Another, which offers a Bible-based approach to building community and combating loneliness. The authors are Jeff Galley, HOPE International’s senior development ambassador, and Phil Smith, who leads programming for 6,000 small groups and more than 100 local mission partnerships for Life.Church. Neither worked with an agent. A winter 2026 release is planned.
DeMuth Inks a Pair of Deals
Mary DeMuth of Mary DeMuth Literary has sold world rights to Rachel Kirsch, managing editor at Kregel, for Your Healing Will Help: A Hopeful Approach to Thriving when Someone You Love Struggles with Addiction. The book, by mental, emotional, and relational health expert Ashley Moore, provides advice rooted in Scripture to help readers find ways to thrive even if a loved one forsakes sobriety. Publication is planned for fall 2026.
DeMuth also represented the Salvation Poem Project, producer of an upcoming animated film about Jesus's ministry and resurrection, Light of the World, for a suite of related print products to be published by Tyndale. Linda Howard, associate publisher for kids' books, Bibles, and Tyndale’s YA imprint Wander, teamed up with acquisitions editor Shannon Read to take world rights for six books that will follow the September film release. This fall, Tyndale will release a family devotional written by Natalie Hanemann, a children’s picture book by Mary DeMuth's daughter Sophie DeMuth, and three coloring books. A children's Bible Storybook will be released in spring 2026.
