ReedPOP has unveiled a lineup of science fiction, mystery and thriller authors for BookCon 2018.
The mystery and thriller writer lineup, which ReedPOP selected in conjunction with Hachette Book Group, includes such bestselling authors as David Baldacci, Sandra Brown, Brad Meltzer, and Walter Mosley, who will participate in a panel moderated by author (and writer for HBO's The Deuce) Megan Abbott. The panel will focus on such tipucs as "the keys to writing a truly thrilling thriller, transforming their characters from page to screen," and "what it’s like to spend so much time thinking about murder."
On the science fiction and fantasy side, authors Charlie Jane Anders, Seth Dickinson, S.L. Huang, and V.E. Schwab will all be available for autograph signings, in addition to participating in panels. These authors, along with the above, join a previously-announced slate of writers including Chuck Palahniuk, Angie Thomas, and Jason Reynolds, along with actors Taye Diggs and Diane Guerrero.
"As part of our ongoing effort to broaden the content offerings at BookCon, we spent the last few months speaking with readers about what they want more of at the show," said BookCon event director Brien McDonald, adding that the results showed attendees want "more mystery/thriller and science fiction/fantasy programming.” He went on: “We are always working to create the ultimate storytelling destination for our fans with content for all types of readers and are excited to be able to bring more of the authors, books, and entertainment that they are asking for to this year’s show.”
