Follett will expand its book fair business in its second year in operation, the company has announced.
Taking effect during the 2018-19 school year, Follett will offer fairs focused on early childhood (pre-kindergarten to first grade) and middle school (grades 6-8) readers exclusively. The program launched last year on a regional basis, and fairs previously catered only to wider K-6 and K-8 school markets.
“Our ability to build solid product offerings for specific segments such as PreK-1 and middle schools is a direct result of the success we’ve had in our first year partnering with educators and parent groups,” Tony Hopkins, senior v-p of Follett Book Fairs, said in a statement. “With our strong commitment to literacy, we are gratified our book fair business has been met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction.”
Follett will also accelerate its timetable to expand into major metropolitan markets in the country, Hopkins added, attributing the expansion to the program's success. (Follett expanded the program this past April, when it announced it would be taking its fairs into Texas.)
