Twenty-four authors and creators have donated books to the Authors for Abortion Access auction, which will run online from July 12–26. Proceeds will benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds Collective Power Fund and Keep Our Clinics. Both organizations support individual clinics through grassroots movements, particular in areas of the U.S. facing the most sever restrictions on abortions.
Among those who donated items for auction are Olivia Blake, Neil Gaiman, Chloe Gong, V.E. Schwab, Sabaa Tahir, and Martha Wells. Items include limited edition copies, not-yet published works, signed books, and boxed sets, such as a rare leather-bound Easton Press edition of Coraline, galleys of the fall novel The Atlas Paradox, and out-of-stock special editions of The Invisible Life of Addie Larue.
"As a three-person volunteer team, we chose to focus on a limited number of high-impact items from beloved writers, auction organizers Vaishnavi Patel, Rebecca Kuang, and Ananya Shah said in a joint statement. "We’ve received so much support and excitement already from the publishing community, and we’re all very keen to see how much these items can raise."
