The inaugural Incheon EduContent Fair, which ended its three-day run last week in the South Korean city, was one of the core programs to highlight Incheon’s status as the 2015 UNESCO World Book Capital.
Developed and organized in consultation with the Frankfurt Book Fair, it is aimed at creating a platform for global players in the educational content industry and related IT sectors to display their offerings. It is envisioned as a marketplace for the whole education value chain to exchange ideas and information on the industry while showcasing Asian education excellence.
Held at Incheon’s Songdo Convensia Convention Center, the fair hosted 74 exhibitors, including local content companies Chunjae Education, Yeowon Media and Aram Publishing. Eighteen overseas exhibitors from six countries such as Kim Dong Publishing (Vietnam), Nanmee Books (Thailand), Pelangi Publishing Group (Malaysia) and Singapore Book Publishers Assocation took part in the event. In total, about 15,000 industry professionals and the general public visited the fair.
While this year’s Incheon EduContent Fair was rather modest in terms of exhibitor numbers and attendees, the next edition, tentatively scheduled for November 10 to 13, 2016 is set to attract major players and trade visitors across the world.
