Join us in the Librarians’ Lounge for an author discussion of speculative fiction and a sneak peek at two of the upcoming season’s most buzzed about YA novels, Holly Black’s The Cruel Prince and Ryan Graudin’s Invictus. Sponsored by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, both Black and Graudin will be on hand to talk with librarians about their work.
“Black is famous for her tales of urban faerie,” notes Victoria Stapleton, executive director, Little, Brown’s school and library marketing, “and Ryan Graudin is rapidly building a reputation for her books spinning ‘what if’ stories.”
In The Cruel Prince (Jan. 2018), Black (author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Six of Crows) delivers a work that Stapleton says will appeal to fans of the author’s previous faerie novels, and also to new fans, who will connect with the book’s fantasy elements.
In Invictus (Sept.), Graudin, author of The Walled City, Wolf by Wolf, and Blood for Blood, tells the heart-pounding story of a 17-year-old time traveler who must find a way to keep the universe from unraveling.
Expect a fascinating talk. “Both authors are adventurous in exploring YA psychology and morality,” Stapleton says.
Thursday, June 1, from 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the PW BookExpo Librarians’ Lounge (Booth 875).
