On Thursday, May 30, 9—9:30 a.m start your day in the lounge (booth 557) with a light breakfast, courtesy of Move Books, and learn more about the publisher's mission to motivate young boys to a life of reading.
Check out the new Move Books app, grab a swag bag, and talk with representatives from Move Books' reps about the kinds of titles and strategies than help transform young boys into lifelong readers.
Numerous studies over the years have shown that boys take a different path toward a life of reading than girls, and that for too long, not enough was done to reach out to boys. That's what motivated Move Books to launch in 2011 with an important mission: "to cultivate a generation of boys who are recreational readers, who will choose their own books and don’t have to be led."
The publisher is already making a difference, working with parents, educators, and librarians to become a trusted source of boy-centered books that spark excitement and adventure.
"We want boys to become emotionally invested, finding the books they love," reads the publishers mission statement. “We want to change the way boys look at reading.”
Thursday, May 30, 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., at the Publishers Weekly BookExpo Librarians’ Lounge (Booth 557).
