Best Translated Book Awards Finalists Announced

Three Percent, a resource for international literature at the University of Rochester, has announced the finalists for this year’s Best Translated Book Awards for fiction and poetry. Authors selected include Italy's Elena Ferrante and Brazil's Clarice Lispector in the fiction category, and China's Liu Xia in poetry. The series, which launched in 2007, aims to highlight exceptional works of international literature published in the U.S. the previous year. 

Winners will be revealed the evening of Wednesday, May 4, both live and in the online magazine The Millions. Each winning author and translator will receive $5,000 in prize money provided by the Amazon Literary Partnership.
