Jennifer Weiner's bestselling trade paperback novel, Good in Bed, marks 36 weeks (about nine months) on PW's national charts, more than half of that time in the top third of the list. Washington Square Press's first printing back in April 2002 was 45,000 copies. Since then, the book has gone back to press 17 times, for a total of 525,000 copies in print. WSP boasts that it was the #1 bestselling trade paperback at Barnes & Noble for 2002. Weiner toured extensively for both the hardcover and paperback editions of the book, as well as for her second novel, In Her Shoes, published fall 2002 in hardcover. Both books will surely benefit by Weiner's latest good news—HBO and Sex and the City scribe Jenny Bicks will be developing a half-hour sitcom based on the book and the main character—a 28-year-old Philadelphia Examiner reporter preoccupied with her weight and men.
